Eagle0 vs. Bandit Kings

Last updated: September 28, 2026

Eagle0 grew out of a love for Bandit Kings of Ancient China, but it is not a remake. If you know Bandit Kings, these are the differences most likely to change how you play.

Simultaneous Actions

In Bandit Kings, one province acts and its turn fully resolves before the next province acts. In Eagle0, all players act simultaneously: all vassal provinces act, then all faction-leader provinces act. No new information is shared while those orders resolve.

This matters most when you March. By the time your army arrives, you may face different defenders—or find that the forces you expected are no longer there.

Heroes and Battalions

In Bandit Kings, each hero has a retinue of troops permanently attached to them. In Eagle0, heroes and battalions are independent; they are linked only while marching or in battle.

Professions and Battalion Types

Heroes have professions with their own special actions. Battalions also come in different types, so an army's options depend on both the heroes leading it and the forces they bring.

Infrastructure and Devastation

Eagle0 has Infrastructure instead of Flood Control. It helps limit damage from natural disasters, but it also caps how high a province's battalions can raise their armament. Every province can raise armament, up to its Infrastructure limit.

Provinces also track Devastation to their Economy, Agriculture, and Infrastructure. Damage can leave a province operating below its developed stats until it is repaired.

Hazards and Rivers

There are many more kinds of beast attacks and natural disasters. There are no ships; armies can cross rivers using bridges, frozen water, or the tactical Brave Water action.

No Solicit or Hunting

Eagle0 has no Solicit command for gold or metal, and no Hunting action.
